Helioplex® technology effectively absorbs the hazardous UVA and UVB rays, providing "photostable" durable protection. The Neutrogena® Helioplex® products are formulated to be photostable, able to stand up to the sun's harsh UVB and UVA rays to deliver the same level of protection, no matter how long you stay out. It is important to note that even with photostable Helioplex® protection, we recommend reapplication of the product, especially after water exposure, and after you towel dry, or rub sand off your skin. Re-application does two things, it adds protection on top of what is already there, and it helps you to "cover" spots that you may have missed on the first application. The Helioplex® products have been tested to demonstrate 4 hours water resistant protection, but there is no down-side to reapplying after coming out of the water, especially if you towel dry and are likely to remove some of this important protection barrier. I am always happy to pay for quality but when it came to sunscreen, noone has ever told me why their product is different from all the other brands available in the market. Finally a sunscreen that tells me why it is different and why it is better for me. I just spent the last week in Port Stephens and used it every day!.......Loved it!
